LIFE... Did I truly lived it so far...
There are only two people whose pride truly matters to me. Not my parents, not my friends, not even my mentors.
Just Two : the 8 year old me full of dreams & the 80 year old me full of memories. Both are watching me "NOW"
The child I was once is still inside me, filled with wonder and hope, waiting to see if I will chase the dreams I once believed in. This child in me doesn't care about success, the way the world does. This child just wants to see me try, to be brave enough, to go after what truly makes me happy.
And then there's the older me- the one who lived through it all and knows how quickly time passes. This older me doesn't judge me like the world does. The wiser me don't care about any achievements, accolades and accomplishments. It doesn't concern her what others think. All it wants from me is to slow down, cherish the small moments, love deeply, laugh freely, and fully embrace the life I have today- because these moments won't last forever.
So, if in this moment both of them can look at me with pride, if the child sees their hero and the elder one sees a life well lived, then I can rest easy. Because in the end it was never about being perfect, it was about true to myself, about making the little me proud and giving the elder me Peace. And if I have done that.... I HAVE ALREADY WON.
Well said and written Life is such a profound and complex journey, and it's always moving to read words that capture its nuances..
