Lockdown In India 3.0

The Busiest Roads Are Empty, Like our Lives These Days.......

This is an open letter I want every working women to read out to.

These are tough times the real one. Nobody has ever witnessed these times in past nor they could even relate to. Not even Our great grand parents. But yes I strongly believe that when all this will get over, when years will pass we will certainly recite these stories to our generations to come. How we got locked down and The Mother Nature healed itself from the harsh doings by US.

But nobody knows when things are going to get normalize. What we are currently going through is something a serious serious affair in every household. We are allowed to work from home by our Companies. They expect regular productivity from us by going digital. They keep us completely engrossed in a manner that we are now working 24x7. There can be a mail communication at any point of time in a day, with  urgent replies required even at odd hours of the day and sometimes at night. While juggling out of this new normal office schedule, nobody in the family understand the kind of pressure a woman is going through. Our day these days normally starts at 6:00 am and does not end until 12:00 am. From managing household chores to daily official productivity reporting,  life  has become really tough. As a working woman in India we generally don't tend to have any Me Time but now it has become even more difficult. In midst of a virtual official meeting your in laws might pop up to ask you bahu what is there for lunch today, oh you have not done the dishes yet. You must understand it's already 1:30 pm when are we going to have lunch. You have no sense of timings.

The daily routine of a working woman, working from home can easily be summarized : it  is  wake up clean the house, make breakfast, do the dishes. Prepare lunch, do the dishes. While doing the office work, do the dishes. prepare evening snacks, do the dishes. Prepare dinner, while sending daily reports,in between con calls you are doing the dishes again. Work from home for women is actually more work of home. Men are not supposed to do these stuff at all, after all their work is really important. In laws are never going to support you infact, they will make sure that since you are at home these days why not cook some delicacies.

The struggle for working women having young kids is much more. To raise kids, it has become the soul responsibility of a mother, a father  at work from home cannot bear the nuisance kids are making  so mother has to make sure that she keeps her work aside and provide an adequate surrounding to father so that he can WORK FROM HOME peacefully.

Why is it  a woman's job to handle all household chores, This is everybody's home including me. But How can I forget there is no home for a Woman in India. She is a paraya dhan at her parents home. Paraye ghar ki ladki at her husband's home.

I just wanted to understand from Our respected Prime Minister  what was actually going through his  mind while getting this locked down imposed. You have not thought about the daily wage workers is a different political agenda I do not want to discuss that. But as a Citizen of the biggest Republican Country of this World I want to know. Are we not your responsibility? If you can ask people to praise the frontline workers by clapping and lighting a diya or a candle why can't you ask the Men of our country to work for home atleast for a day. May be they enjoy that like we enjoy shouldering the responsibility of financial needs of our home.

A lot many female employees work not only to make themselves self dependent and self sufficient but also to ease out their stress they get at home. We are going through a  Hell Modiji and you have to understand that. This lockdown period is nowhere a period for building bond between the family members rather it is creating a lot of stress amongst all.

May be my words reach out to You and some constructive solution emerges. Which brings positivity, a new excitement across our lives as well. We will win this pandemic situation but while staying at Home may be we loose our bonds within the family.
